20 Minutes of Fallout 4 on PS4

I was literally blown away by excitement when I got the physical disc of Fallout 4 at my hand. No, it didn’t arrive by mail or anything. I had to go to the shopping center to purchase it myself. But I had been waiting for Fallout 4 so long that just having it on my hand would have been good enough reason to overflow with excitement.

I not only had the Fallout 4 disc at my hand, I had it two days before the title’s original release.

See, retailers do get the physical copy of any games prior to the game’s actual release date. Game publishers can’t ship the discs after the release date because then the people outside the stores will not be able to get it on day 1. I assume that in other countries like the United States, the retailers are under legal binding that they will not be able to sell the disc before the title’s official release.

Guess what, that’s certainly not the case here in Bangladesh, resulting in a lot of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners getting physical copy of the games ahead of their official release date.

Enough babbling about the excitement of getting the game early on, here’s some footage of the game’s opening credits as well as the first 14 minutes into the game. Fallout 4 has been out for a couple of days now and full-on reviews are out there. Still, I wanted to post it just to get started with this brand new blog that I’ve created just for the purpose of ranting about this virtual world of awesomeness that I’ve entered. 😀

Now, on to the videos:

As a lot of reviewers have already pointed out, Fallout 4 on consoles isn’t exactly flawless. There are glitches every now and then, and some say the game’s graphics could have been better.

I’m not the pitch-perfect graphics guy so I’m totally fine with occasional non-game-breaking glitches and less than realistic textures and graphics. To be honest, I didn’t feel like the game’s graphics were not satisfactory. But that might be because my TV sharpens everything a bit too much and for the kind of scenery that I see on games like Fallout 4 and Far Cry 4, that’s actually a good thing.

I haven’t had the time to explore the wasteland as much as the next guy. I loved the opening, I loved how the citizens were rushed into the vault as the nuke went off, and I loved the fact that I enjoyed every bit of it despite the fact that these scenes were already revealed in the game’s trailer.

For now, I’m taking my time and trying to figure everything out as I progress into the wasteland. There are too many things to grasp in the world of Fallout 4. Every time I go looking for beginner guide, I feel lost and confused. So, I’m going to take baby steps and really try to figure out what makes this game so awesome.

And oh, confession time, I haven’t played any Fallout title before (except maybe the first half an hour of Fallout New Vegas).

How are you liking Fallout 4 so far? Does occasional glitches and graphics bother you so much?

  1. I just started to play, and I had the same opinion. It’s not the best graphic, but it’s definitely a “Fallout thing”, looks like it’s on a old world, but in the future, I love that environment! I bought the Survival Guide, I’m looking forward to discover all the details from the Fallout world 🙂
